I am completely happy with the experience I had regarding my laminectomy in October. Dr Friedlich was thorough in explaining all the ins and outs and risks of surgery. At the hospital everything was done professionally and competently. I am glad I made the decision to have this procedure done. I no longer suffer the pain from spinal stenosis which I had for over a year. I am a 73 year old woman, and can now say I am in very good health. I am able to walk again without pain and resume all activities I have always enjoyed.

Dr Friedlich is a great doctor; at my initial consultation he was warm and cordial, yet very concerned that I do the right thing in taking care of myself properly in light of the fact that I have osteopenia and degenerative vertebrae coursing up and down my spine. He even allowed me to view a few images from my recent MRI that showed his area of concern for further review. I felt comfortable discussing my spinal problems with him, and feel it was all time well spent reviewing my concerns. The entire office staff are friendly yet professional, and I appreciate the professionalism that pervades the entire office.

As a 1st time patient, I arrived on time and was seen promptly. The nurse called me in and did my vitals and said doctor would be in in 2-3 minutes. Dr Abshire came in right away. Dr. Abshire is very straight forward and makes me feel I am getting a real diagnosis; unlike the primary care providers who just keep referring patients with no suggestions. Dr. Abshire listens to you and is not full of himself like some specialist that just want to be heard for their egos. I will be going to a neurologist to see if my nerve numbness can be treated or if I will be in pain for the rest of my life. Dr Abshire is a real nice person and surgeon. My friend was operated in the last 24 months.

Dr. Abshire and his staff are amazing helpers of people in need in our community. When I went to see him and told him I knew I had to have surgery but he was providing a 2nd opinion, he convinced me to let him do it. He performed my C3-C4 ACDF surgery and managed my care for 18 months even though I had it set up with another surgeon. About 6 weeks after my surgery I developed a hematoma in my neck and when I went back to the hospital he was on duty that weekend. He made sure to communicate with the hospital dr. and he convinced the hospital staff to wait before performing an aggressive surgery for what they thought was an infection traveling into my spine. Luckily Dr. Abshire knew what he was seeing and he has the communication skills to convince other doctors that his opinion is the correct one. I thank you Dr. Abshire for what you did for me. May God continue to Bless you and your family and I hope you stay a surgeon for as long as God allows you so that you may continue to help others.

I was scared to death about getting the scoliosis surgery because every doctor I spoke to about this surgery refused to guarantee that I would be pain free afterwards. However, Dr. Abshire gave me confidence that he would do a good job, and he did a terrific job. A year and 2 months since the surgery, I am still pain free and my back keeps getting stronger. Dr. Abshire was wonderful. He clearly explained the issues with my back and recommended I not have surgery as it would be very invasive and may make things worse. Dr. Abshire was thorough and explicit in explaining what I needed to have done to repair my left carpal tunnel and elbow nerve release. He did not rush me through the process and answered all questions I had about the procedure. He also suggested that I should have a ten year checkup on my cervical fusion just to make sure everything was still in good place and functioning properly. I was able to schedule an appointment for the consult within a very reasonable couple of weeks to be seen for the first time. His staff immediately got with me to schedule preliminary tests required prior to the surgery and followed up with accessing records from a prior physician. He explained the entire procedure, what the complications might be and what was involved in the procedure, even though I've already had the other hand and elbow done. I trust that we will have a positive aspect to his procedure to attack degenerative joint disease in the my left elbow and wrist in coming weeks.

After 3 years of pain, I had back surgery - laminectomy/discectomy - in November 2022. My right hip and right leg no longer have any pain. My surgery was performed so that 2 members of my family would be home to help me. I only had to go to physical therapy for 3 weeks, since I recovered quickly and uneventfully. I am very happy with the results and would recommend Dr. Friedlich to perform this surgery on anyone.

The visit was efficient, we waited about 15 minutes for Dr. Friedlich to arrive. The staff was argentive and kind. He seemed rushed, too many appointments as in any good medical office. I did not get all questions answered. Other appointments were requested and a follow up visit to be scheduled.

Temecula Valley Neuosurgery has the most professional and kind staff that I have ever met. I have yet to meet a member that was not able to communicate effectively, meaningfully and respectfully with me. Sadly, I cannot say the same for the staff members of my various orher doctors over my thiry-five years in this area. I have actually reminded some of these people that it was they, who chose the medical field. It is not hard to be patient, respectful and kind in any situation. Dr Oh is Awesome! I went for a 2nd opinion, trying to understand the significance of my “irreparable “ back. He listened and took his time evaluating the MRI from a year ago. He has ordered multiple exams before seeing me again. He also explained the different procedures that can be done that are less invasive than fusion. Previous Doc had no options for me.

I have been a patient with Dr Friedlich since 2012. Dr Friedlich had removed a malignant tumor from my brain at that time. Always professional, thorough, very pleasant and he takes his time answering and explaining. I recently became a patient again with him. Dr Friedlich removed another tumor from my brain.
